What Is the EmPower+ Program?
EmPower+ is a statewide initiative designed to reduce energy costs for income-eligible households. It combines no-cost services with incentives to cover energy efficiency upgrades.

Energy Efficiency Assistance for New York Homes
The EmPower+ program, offered by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), helps low- and moderate-income New Yorkers make energy-saving improvements to their homes. These upgrades can lower energy bills, improve comfort, and make homes healthier and more efficient—all at little or no cost to eligible households.

Who is Eligible for EmPower+?
You may qualify if
- Your household income is at or below 80% of the state or area median income (varies by county and household size).
- You participate in certain assistance programs (like HEAP, SNAP, or utility payment assistance).
- You own or rent a 1- to 4-family home that is your primary residence.

- Low-income households (typically at or below 60% of median income) can receive up to $10,000 in no-cost improvements.
- Moderate-income households (60-80% of median income) can receive up to $5,000 toward project costs.
